Nicky Youre & Dazy’s “Sunroof” (RCA) tops TikTok’s Top 5 songs in the U.K. list for this summer. The platform’s breakout artist is London rapper Stepz.
“Sunroof” tops the chart after becoming the soundtrack to the TikTok community’s summer videos. The track peaked at #29 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart earlier in September.
The remaining Top 5 consists of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” (EMI) at #2 and Duke & Jones and Louis Theroux’ “Jiggle Jiggle" (Robots & Humans) at #3. Luclover takes fourth place with the self-released “L$d,” followed by the Higher & Faster remix of Cat Burns’ “Go” (Since 93/RCA) at #5.
Stepz’ hit “Cramp Dat” (Graduation) saw a big spike in video creations across the summer and took the #1 spot on TikTok’s weekly hot tracks chart for seven weeks. Other tracks to have seen spikes across the period include George Ezra’s “Green Green Grass” (Columbia), thanks to a video of its performance at Glastonbury.
